The speedcards are pretty wank, but since the last update if you win races the card you choose is going to be a solid upgrade at least 80% of the time. Game just feels empty to me right now without other people cruising around and doing meets in parking lots. When I got the game at launch I knew there was no freeroam but the customization and all the empty lots around the city alone kept me thinking with this many people asking for it, and all these parking lots there's no way they won't add it down the line. Having a great time with it.Д«tw, is there an industrial/dock area in this game?ДЇor me, online freeroam, all cars being able to get to 399, and freeroam cops with an on and off toggle is all this game needs to get to another level. If they cut the dialogue in half and cut out all the unnecessary bullsh*t and cringle, the story would've been so much better and easily the best one since Carbon, if not since Most Wanted.Д«ut why do I bother ranting when I enjoy this game? I accepted it's flaws and don't mind them. That drag group with Big Sister as the leader wasn't horrible either. Hooowever, The House isn't such a bad antagonist. Just when I thought the story isn't that bad for a second, a line pops up that makes me want to gag myself with a pillow. They don't even bother me that much anymore. I've been angry enough about them before I played it so whatever. It's a dull RPG, a nonsensical one, but whatever. However, it kinda makes me feel like I'm playing an RPG, trying to aim for better stats for my cars. There are like 3 or 4 different currencies, f*ck off with that. It really doesn't belong in a racing game. Speed cards suck dick and don't make any sence. The exception is the runner class, where I haven't seen a noticable difference so far. Each class feels different and fun to play. The new classes are a superb addition, it doesn't get enough credit.

I'm 8 hours in and haven't felt like it's a grind. Drifting throughout the desert, drag racing in the city, intense cop chases and many challenges and optional races to keep me occupied. Now that I got to play it, the gameplay is amazing. I marked it as yet another sh*tty NFS and tried to skip this game for as long as I could. My expectations have been extremely low because I've been following this game since the announcement, was hyped af, then read and watched what critics had to say as well as following this topic so that I know what players have to say. While my and the general criticism is well deserved - it's still a great game. I've been very rough on NFS Payback before I actually got to play it. The time where fashion discovered a good game underneath all of his rants and doubts he initially had before playing. It's that time of the year again, boys and girls. But Payback for the customization, visually for sure. You could get Payback and maybe the original The Crew second hand.

I would recommend you possibly by The Crew 2 as it's going to be the same map when it comes out this year. I'd say the The Crew but Payback is more like driving of Hot Pursuit 2 and of course there's drifting which is practically none-existent in The Crew. Hard to say which driving is more like Midnight Club. The photo editor in Payback annoyingly doesn't have a slow shutter speed option to show blurrier lines to emphasize speed. The Crew's map is awesome though and it's photo editor is a lot better. Payback definitely has better car customisation and drifting too.

I was thinking of getting The Crew for the free-roam alone but then I read about the announcement. Man I'm really itching to get this game now that there's going to be online free-roam.
